Terms of Service

1. The service

Producer Credentials provides each licensed insurance producer with a personal subdomain that displays their name, National Producer Number (NPN), licensed states, license documents, contact information, and the products they sell.

The service is intended as a convenience for consumers who want to confirm that an agent is real and properly licensed in their state. It is not a substitute for independently verifying license status with the issuing state Department of Insurance or with NIPR.

2. Not a government site

Producer Credentials is an independent platform. We are not affiliated with NIPR, any state Department of Insurance, or any federal regulatory body. We do not issue licenses; we display information that licensed agents have provided and have confirmed against public records.

3. Agent accounts

To create a verification page, you must be a licensed insurance producer with at least one active resident state license. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information about your licenses
• Keep your NIPR record up to date
• Promptly update your verification page if any of your licenses lapse, are suspended, or are revoked
• Not use the platform to misrepresent your licensing status or qualifications

4. Payment

Agent verification pages are billed at $24 per month per agent, paid in advance. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are not issued for partial months.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the platform to:

• Misrepresent the licensing status of any individual
• Solicit, market, or advertise to consumers who visit a verification page
• Scrape, copy, or extract bulk data from the platform
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or security controls
• Use the platform in violation of any state or federal insurance regulation

6. Consumer use

Consumers may browse the platform anonymously. By visiting a verification page, you acknowledge that the information displayed is provided by the agent and reflects their submission to NIPR at the time of last sync. Always verify a license directly with the issuing state Department of Insurance before relying on it for a financial decision.

7. Disclaimers

The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we sync license data from NIPR and require agents to keep their information current, we do not warrant that any individual record is complete, accurate, or up-to-the-minute. Insurance products discussed in product overview pages are described in plain language and are not offers to sell any specific policy.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Producer Credentials and its affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate any agent account that violates these terms, materially misrepresents license status, or fails to keep license information current. Consumers can stop using the platform at any time with no further obligation.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.

11. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Material changes will be announced to agents via the email on file at least 30 days before they take effect.
